Animal Walk Adventure

Spin the wheel, move like the animal, and beat the 30-second timer. Five rounds earns a printable Animal Walk Champion badge.

Free from Oaklin Lane’s therapists. Nothing here is a diagnosis, and if something feels off, that’s enough to ask.

How to play

  1. Clear some space and kick off your shoes.
  2. Spin the wheel to pick an animal: bear, crab, frog, flamingo, snake, seal, bunny or penguin.
  3. Read how to move, then start the 30-second timer and go!
  4. Each animal earns a star. Five stars makes you an Animal Walk Champion, with a badge you can print.

Why animal walks help

Animal walks come straight from the home programs our occupational and physical therapists give families. Moving on hands and feet builds core and shoulder strength, balance and body awareness. The heavy work also helps kids feel calm and organized, so it’s a great break before homework or dinner.

Always play on a clear, soft surface, and stop if anything hurts.

Why do therapists use animal walks?

They build strength, balance and body awareness through play, and the heavy muscle work helps kids feel calm.
